Cycling as a hobby and sport is once again becoming popular and allows people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the countryside at their own pace. This resurgence is highlighted by the success of the GB Team in the last 2 Olympics and the number of World Champions the UK has in all disciplines of the sport.

It has long been a dream to organise a Festival of Cycling in the North East that allows people of all ages and abilities to take part, either as a spectator or competitor.
